Modified Tongsheng TSDZ2 crank drive

I am selling my ebike conversion kit. The kit comprises
TSDZ2 crank drive motor with throttle and brake levers, 48volt 15Ah battery (Panasonic Cells),
battery charger,
cranks,
head unit.

The original kit was supplied by Woosh Bikes Limited to me in March 2023 and originally cost over seven hundred pounds. I purchased the kit to install it on a recumbent tricycle I own. To facilitate the installation the wiring harness was lengthened to accommodate the frame of the tricycle. Wire to wire joins were soldered and insulated using heat shrink tubing, others where possible used pre-made extension cables. All joins were insulated/weather proofed using heat shrink tubing.

The kit was one of the first to offer a 48volt battery and once fitted it transpired that Tongsheng had not set the battery monitor software in the head correctly with the result that the five bar display indicates full for most of the batteries charge. Initially this was not obvious so I fitted a digital volt meter to help understand what was happening to the battery. Note a second set of battery state indicators on the battery work as expected which means it is simple to match these to voltage. In use riding on mixed surfaces in very flat Lincolnshire I was getting well over one hundred miles range in eco-mode.

The installation was almost a great success and I enjoyed riding with it. Unfortunately the design of the crank motor means that it has a wide "tread" or "Q-factor" and when fitted to my trike it was slightly off centre with the result riding it caused pain in my knees. I removed the kit and let my knees recover. Once recovered I rode the un-modified trike without issue then refitted the Tongsheng and the pain in my knees returned in less than five miles.

I removed the kit and packed it away while I thought about what to do with it and have decided to sell the complete kit.

I estimate that the motor has been used for 153 miles according to the system odometer and that the battery has only been charged less than ten times. I have stored the battery inside with a charge state of approximately 50%.
